Or maybe it’s “What’s the one thing someone probably told me along the way but I was too stubborn and immature to listen to”?
I wish someone had told me that no matter what, the same elements go into successful trading that go into being a success in any other arena in life.
That being successful in trading isn’t going to magically make up for not doing what I was supposed to do in any other business I had run or job I had been asked to do.
That cutting corners on tasks to get to my trading was going to hurt me as much as any money loss in any trade, mostly because it probably caused many of the losses.
I wish I would have paid attention to the basic account fundamentals on capital needs and expected returns.
I wish I would have paid attention to the fact that trading is easy but my habits and my beliefs and my routines are messed up and those need to change
Again, why didn’t someone tell me the trading was easy? Price moves up, price moves down. Go get your head right
I wish I would have been more focused and more diligent in certain times.
I wish I wouldn’t have gambled the farm all the time.
But here is the good part. I don’t have to play those same games today. I can change. And so can you.
How did I put all of this behind me and just become a consistent trader?
That’s a story for another day.
Today, just think about the lessons you wish you had learned, and make damn sure you are putting the learned lesson to practice in your life right now. You can’t change the past but you can change the future by making sure you are doing what you should be right now.
Have a great day.
